Featured Client: U.S. Bank

Mailers, Marketing, Merchandise & More.

Part of my job at Grapevine Designs is to be a brand guru – someone who knows your brand guidelines and goals, through and through. For U.S. Bank, I have become an expert on their brand identity and worked with them to create pieces for print, products, web and social media since their rebrand in 2022. From an on-brand mailer sent out to 73,000 employees to a collection of coordinating holiday products for purchase on the U.S. Bank Logo Shop website, every project requires a unique solution with a unique, but consistent design.

New Employee Welcome Kit

in 2022, U.S. Bank came to us to create 8,000 new employee welcome kit that aligned with their updated brand standards. I worked closely with their marketing team to design a handful of custom products including a set of notebooks and belly band, an employee lanyard, lapel pin and pen set backer cards, buttons, and a set of gratuity cards to share with fellow employees. I also designed the custom, full color box and insert card that tied all the products together as a playful, on-brand gift that introduced employees to the #usbanklife.

Real Employee Feedback

Included on the packaging was a cross media campaign that encouraged recipients to share their new adventure at U.S. Bank on social media, so we’ve gotten to see real life feedback from new employees shared on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Cookie Bank Team Building

Our team at Grapevine worked with Parson Cookie Co. to package and send batches of sugar cookie houses to hundreds of U.S. Bank branches in order for branch staff to participate in a cookie bank decorating contest. I was asked to decorate and photo three sample cookie banks to provide branch staff with inspiration. I was also tasked with creating a reel for U.S. Bank to share in collaboration with Grapevine as a glimpse into a day in the life of a U.S. Bank employee.

All Employee Backpack Mailer

To share their updated branding, U.S. Bank sent out 73,000 mailers to all current employees. I was asked to design a “fresh, modern, simple, & clean” poly envelope mailer to hold the backpack gift inside. I designed multiple options for the packaging utilizing their brand assets and guidelines. Here you can see the final, 6-color design as well as some initial concepts based on the inspiration the client provided.

Union Bank Acquisition Mailer

In December of 2022, U.S. Bank acquired Union Bank and expanded their branch network along the West Coast. To welcome new branch managers to the U.S. Bank family, they wanted to send a small gift that would be simple but effective and wouldn’t just be thrown away and maintain desk life.

Our team recommended three items - a custom cookie tin that doubled as a piggy bank, a weekly desk calendar, and a reusable, packable grocery tote. Ultimately, U.S. Bank loved the simple “wow” factor of the cookies and sent out my final design on the left in the Spring of 2023. Below are more initial concepts of the cookie tin, desk calendar and packable grocery totes.

U.S. Bank Logo Shop & Collection Flyers

Each season, I update the main slider photos and headlines as well as the featured products on the U.S. Bank Logo Shop homepage based on weather-related and popular new products. I also work with our sales team and the client to design products and promotional Logo Shop flyers for special collections like holiday gifts, PPE & back to work products, and Pride and other monthly celebrations.

Super Savers Coloring Book

I was asked by U.S. Bank to create a children’s coloring and activity book for National Bring your Kid to Work Day. Working closely with a copywriter and utilizing their brand illustrations, icons and other assets, I created scenes depicting various activities for children and ways you can spend and save your money.
